Crowds of attendees gathered at this event which completes the offer of service and sport activities at Lauro 27 Golf Resort.
Saturday February the 7th the opening of the new Lawn Bowls Club in Lauro Golf in Alhaurín de la Torre took place. It was officially inaugurated by the Mayor of Alhaurín de la Torre Don Joaquín Villanova and the sports councilman Don Pablo Montesinos, among others present.
The opening of the Lawn Bowls Club completes a full range of activities that Lauro Golf has for its clients, becoming now a veritable Resort. It currently has a 27 hole Golf Course with a Paddle Tennis Club, an Equestrian Centre and the imminent opening of New Driving Range and Golf School. The arrival of the Lawn Bowls Club, the first inland Bowls Club on the Costa del Sol, has been highly anticipated and many people have already demonstrated their enthusiasm and interest towards this British originated sport.
After the official opening at 1400 by the illustrious Mayor, Lauro Golf Resort Manager Mr. Carlos Pitarch, and Lawn Bowls Club Director Mr. Kenneth Talbot, the participants enjoyed canapés and refreshments catered by Bar la Risa followed by an exhibition match. That first weekend was open, so all those who visited Lauro were invited to try out the green
, (supplied by Dales Sports Surfaces),  free of charge, including free instruction for beginners.
The newly established cub is now of to a good start, attracting experienced regular bowlers as well as local bowlers who had previously found it too far to travel to the coast. There is also a pleasingly high percentage of new bowlers.

The club is open every day from 10.00 until 17.00 with club days on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, (with free instruction for beginners from 12.00 until 13.30), and Sunday mornings.
