Results for the Swedish Short Mat Bowls Team in the world Championships in Herentals, Belgium march 2008.

England took three titles the fours, trips and pairs and Ireland won the singles.

This is a fantastic result after just two years of Bowls in Sweden. Now we have already new goals for the next world championships in Dumfries, Scotland 2010.

We all hope that even more new countries will participate in the upcoming years. Short mat bowls is really a fun and joyful game. It really takes it when you participate in the World Championships but your focus and competitive mind must be on the spot on two days at 100%.

We all players in Sweden wish to thank all people who have been a good support to us. During these two years since we made the commitment to participate in the next world championships many people have been a good help, support and giving us all what it takes

to be there.

Now we can´t  wait to go to Dumfries. We are ready to pay back and support new countries to participate with teams in two years time.

Germany, Holland, Canada will try their best to come with full teams. Then maybe Spain, Denmark and Norway could join. So hopefully we have shown other countries that they can do what we did. Bowls is that fun as a sport so …. Lets put Short Mat Bowls in to growth.
