For more than eighteen months, the Committee of Mazarrón Bowls Club has been striving to find a site for a new bowls club in the Mazarrón area. Countless numbers of sites have been considered but for one reason or another all were found to be unsuitable. More recently, we have been working closely with the Council of Mazarrón and at last it seems that we have been offered a suitable site. It is located in El Alamillo, on the eastern side of Puerto de Mazarrón and it has tremendous potential for the development of a first class facility. Seventy people have shown faith in the project so far, by signing up to become Founder members of the Club, but as the project reaches a critical stage, we now need more people to come forward and join us to enable the development to go ahead. With this in mind, we would like to invite anyone interested in playing bowls, to come to an open meeting at “El Balandro” Sports Club Restaurant in El Alamillo on the 13th September at 1800. The restaurant is situated between the “Pedro & Luciano” ship roundabout and the new “Lighthouse” roundabout on the coast road to Cartagena, in El Alamillo, Puerto de Mazarrón and it is next to the proposed site. This is a wonderful opportunity to be in at the beginning of this exciting project, which we hope to have completed and ready for play early in the New Year. Come along to see our plans, have a look at the site, and ask any questions that you would like answering. You do not need to be an experienced player to be able to join as once we are up and running, coaching and tuition will be available. If you would like any further information, please visit www.mazarronbowlsclub.com where you can see the financial terms of our offer and you can learn much more about our club, or call Brian Tokely on 968 131 538 or Ken Bradley on 626 730 608 both of whom will be pleased to provide any further information.
