Tavira County Lawn Bowling Club

Many Bowling Clubs and individual bowlers will know that Tavira County Lawn Bowling Club, here at Sta. Catarina Fonte Bispo near Tavira on the Eastern Algarve of Portugal was born in 2002, after a lengthy labour by Bill and Joan Cameron.

Now, after building one of the best bowling rinks in Europe, Bill and Joan have decided to take life a little easier and have agreed to the members managing the Club. The membership has grown steadily over the past 5 years and it is now felt that the members themselves are the best people to take the club forward. They will of coarse maintain the good bowling values that Bill an Joan introduced over the years at Tavira.

The membership has been very active in taking the club from strength to strength over its short life, and we shall continue the growth and development of the club.

We shall look forward to the return of our many touring party visitors, friends and individuals and look forward to making new visitors welcome to our little bit of paradise here in the Algarve. Any club or organisation, wishing to spend some time, either individually or in groups, bowling in the sun, will be made very welcome.

On behalf of Bill and Joan, we wish to thank everyone, both in the United Kingdom and in Portugal, for their support over the past 5 years.

We wish Bill and Joan good health and happiness in their retirement.

We promise to keep their baby healthy and look forward to seeing them, as playing members, on their frequent visits to their home here in the Algarve, from their home in Scotland.
