Best-Ever National Championships

The 2011 Spanish National Bowls Championships to be held in Southern Costa Blanca in May, returned to their original format, are expected to attract record entries.

The closing date for entries, at this year’s reduced fees, is 25^th January.  Everyone is invited to the draw at Cheers Bar at 10 o’clock on 17^th February.

There will be medals for the finalists and trophies for both a male and female Player of the Tournament.

Distant clubs will be issued with a list of accommodation available in the area for visiting players.  Please let the committee know, as soon as possible, of any local accommodation you would recommend to be added to the list.

Committee member Jackie Breslin is looking for additional sponsors, large or small, who wish to increase their contacts with Spain’s 3,000 bowlers – via the championships.  His telephone number is 657 662 700.

Chairman of the championship committee John Muldoon, Spain’s Director of Bowls, said, “Your committee is planning a great competition and expect players and spectators to have a wonderful time as they renew old friendships at the venues and enjoy challenges from some of our newer players.”
