Hope you have all federated for the forthcoming Valencian Championships. I am sure you would all agree that it was a resounding success last year and hopefully we can repeat it again this year. Your Committee is very similar with Dominic Mills (San Miguel) Competition Secretary; Brian Allen (San Miguel)Treasurer; Liz Mills (San Miguel) Secretary; Maggie Furness (El Rancho); John Featherstone (San Luis); Mel O’Dell (Emerald Isle); Bob Donnelly (Greenlands); Jan Allen (San Miguel) with Steve Westall (Greenlands) keeping an eye on us all as Delegado Valencian. San Miguel, Greenlands, Emerald Isle. El Rancho are the four venues. The Championships start with the Opening Ceremony at San Miguel on Saturday 15th May and close with the Finals at Emerald Isle on Saturday 29th May. More details will follow as the start gets nearer. The Closing Date for entries is 11th February and obviously Dominic will want the entries in as soon as possible thereafter. Just a reminder that you have to be federated by 1st February to enter. The draw for all disciplines will be on Thursday 25th February. Venue to be announced by Dominic Mills. Everyone is invited to come along to see what happens and you can see quite fairly all my disciplines are played at Greenlands !!!! Our main sponsor at this present time is The Leader with Kevin Reardon volunteering to do the Programme for us. We are going to get it out by the end of April 2010 with your help. Obviously the Committee have a lot of work to do on this front but we need YOUR HELP just as much. So if you are asked to contribute in any way PLEASE, PLEASE get it in by the date asked. Adverts are one of our lifelines and it would be much appreciated if you can help us out with this one. The cost of each advert is the same as last year including all design work – Full Page €400 + IVA; ½ Page €220 +IVA; ¼ Page €120+IVA; 1/8 Page €65+IVA; Banner advertising from €40 +IVA. It would be much appreciated that adverts are paid for upfront as The Leader has lost a considerable amount of money for those who haven’t paid their dues in the past. Writing about sponsors reminds that we still need more people, firms, shops to help us out financially so if you know of anyone who might help, please get in touch. Remember we have cut the entry cost to you this year but still hope to keep to the high standard of last year. We will be letting you know shortly about accommodation and offers on shirts for the Championships.
