Unfortunately, despite regionalising qualification for this year’s
event and guaranteeing each finalist multiple games from the “round-robin”
format, response from certain Provinces has been poor, particularly
in the Gents’ disciplines.
Competitors have cited cost and the current economic climate as the
main reason for not traveling but it is unfortunate for Malaga
because, having championed the new format and the 6 year gap since
we last staged the Nationals, we hoped to have a full entry in each
of the four Ladies and Gents’ disciplines.
However, there are some quality Bowlers traveling down to compete
with our local favourites and everyone will be eager to see who they
are playing in the “round-robin” stages.
The Draw will take place in the Clubhouse at Superbowl on Tuesday,
16 June at 17.00 hours but, as things stand at present, the “running
order” for the Finals will be the Fours, Triples and Pairs,
concluding with the Singles.
