To all members –Malaga Federation Committee.

I am pleased to advise you that at the meeting of the National Executive Committee held last Friday in Mojacar, it was agreed that for 2009 each province (Alicante, Almeria and Malaga) would run a full Provincial Championship of all four disciplines on a single sex basis. This is a new departure for Alicante and Almeria who to date have not run major Championships. These will be held between the 9 and 23 May, being the time already reserved for the National Championships.

The new style Spanish National Championships will be held in Malaga between the 8 and 19 September 2009.in the format of a round robin and will be open to the winners and finalists in every discipline of the Provincial Championships held in May. Each discipline will be played to its final and prizes presented so that players only involved in one discipline will be able arrive and depart according to the time-table.

Venues have still to be agreed with the owners and I shall be dealing with this.

I regard this as a major advance in the development of Bowling as it enables everyone to participate every year with the cost of travel limited to a handful of players. Rotation of the finals will recommence and Mojacar will be able to host the event once again.

As a result please withdraw from your club notice boards the flyer seeking entries for the singles qualifiers as these will no longer be required.
