Federacion Andaluza De BolosMalaga Province To Host Test Match Against Spanish National Squad
|
|
|
DATE : SAT, 1 NOV & SUN, 2 NOV
VENUES : BENAVISTA & SUPERBOWL
We are extremely grateful to the owners of Benavista and Superbowl who have generously donated their facility for the Saturday and Sunday. In the formers case, they have also kindly deferred the start of their November Benavista Classic Tournament to 3 November to accommodate this important fixture in our Calendar.
The Spanish Team will be extremely strong and will feature many of those who successfully competed for Spain in the recent World Bowls and Asian Tournaments in Hong Kong and China.
Following excellent performances at International level in recent years, Spain is now established as a major player and a number of our local Bowlers have made a major contribution to the success. This means our Provincial Team will be deprived of the services of Lynne Metcalfe, Malcolm Greenwood, Pam and Nick Cole who are the respective Captains of the Spanish National Teams.
Despite the absence of these excellent Bowlers, Malaga Province will be fielding a Team which we know will provide serious competition. Each Team will play Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours on both days as detailed below :- 10.00 13.00 PAIRS & TRIPLES 14.00 17.00 SINGLES & FOURS SATURDAY, 1 NOV SUNDAY, 2 NOV

We know the event will be widely supported by both Bowlers and regular visitors to our region and Spectators will be warmly welcomed at both venues. This will generate an excellent atmosphere for those participating and there is sure to be a feast of Bowling for everyone to savour.
More comprehensive details will be provided through the Costa Del Sol News, the Bowling in Spain website, and local Radio Stations during September and October. However at this stage we would ask everyone to log these dates in your Diary and fully support your local favourites, and the National Squad for this prestigious event.
