GHOSTS & GHOULS AT MIRAFLORES!

Halloween saw many strange figures and apparitions at Miraflores with prizes on offer for the best turned out and a day of fun bowling with a cauldron of stew for lunch between the bowling sessions! Carol asked all the participants to park their brooms outside sensibly beforehand to avoid potential conflicts with neighbours!

A great time was had by all with some fantastic outfits on display the dressing up prize was won by John Barnes (what a surprise he makes Danny La Rue’s wardrobe look bare!) and just for the record the bowling prizes were won by Tom Cordner and Sheila McGurk

The largest open bowls competition on the coast the Miraflores Open starts on Saturday 11th November at 10.00 a.m. with the Open Fours. The Mixed Triples start Sunday and the Mixed Pairs on Monday. A record entry has been received which means a full day’s bowling every day of the competition, which is great news especially for spectators. We are delighted to have 2 major sponsors in place, namely Ibex Insurance and Currencies Direct both of whom will have representatives on site to answer questions about their companies to both players and spectators.

Spectators are welcome at all times and we have a fully stocked bar with food available to satisfy everybody's needs. Sunday 19th November which is finals day will feature all 3 finals and is normally a very popular event for spectators, especially the post final presentations and scorecard draw with prizes from local businesses for all entrants who are present, don't miss it!! This year we will also have a guest of honour at the presentations, Nuria Rodriguez who is the Sports Councillor for Mijas.
