Historically wet weather has dogged our "1car1" Open Mixed Triples competition but not on this occasion! On Friday & Saturday 4th & 5th April, in perfect weather conditions, 24 teams including 5 from as for away as Mojacar played down to just 2 by 4pm on the second afternoon.

The final of a successful competition was contested by Malcolm Sprawson, Bob & Mary Cockell from Benitachel B.C. and their opposition was the unbeaten trio of David Brown, Chris Evans & Clive English also from BBC. A nice size crowd stayed on and witness Clive's trio build up an early and decisive lead. When called upon Skip Clive was able, on most occasions, to turn heads over and on the day his triple proved to be very worthy winners of this event.

The losing Semi-Finalists were Mike Rowlands,Tony & Lucille Woods From Finca Guila and Javea Greens Jan Phillips, Brian Collins and Jim Fletcher.

The most generous sponsors were "1car1" whose representative, David Bance, was on hand throughout and duly presented the Trophies and prize monies to the finalists.

Our thanks go to Jerry Bartley for his attention to the umpiring duties & our new owners the Lemmens Family for providing very good food & drink. The organiser says that next years competition has been increased to 3 days and he already has 32 triples entered but further entries are welcome with a view of having a tournament for 36 triples. Date for tha 2nd, 3rd & 4th April 2009.
