Balls Bounce Back Once Again!

There were mixed comments to the new format from the entrants at this year’s Harry Kinloch Triples event, hosted by Mijas BC  from 22^nd – 25^th March. Key teams were seeded and entered the competition a day later than the rest, who played a two game round robin, prior to the elimination rounds. Ray Nelson, Mijas BC’s worthy Competition Secretary, devised the format to cope with an non-standard number of entries.

In any event the standard of bowling was high and the event was deemed a success. Ironically, the finals were between two unseeded triples, Pam & Ron Cole, with Trevor Hawkins, from Mijas BC and last years winners, Frank & Pauline Ball, with Barbara Land, from Benalmadena BC. In a fairly one-sided match, the Balls and Barbara retained their title.

Trophies were presented to the winnesr and finalists by Mijas BC President, Phil Parnell, and Ray Nelson. A special thanks was given to Carol Jacobs & Kay Connell, for providing excellent catering facilities during the tournament.
