Southern Alicante Province

The Torrevieja area of Southern Alicante The bowling clubs in this part are all within 20 minutes drive of the popular resort, Torrevieja, but visitors to the area can find it difficult to locate them. The key to this challenge relates to roundabouts, which proliferate in this zone. The map opposite shows, in symbolic form, a string of roundabouts, (coloured green), that connects all the clubs, (except Emerald Isle, La Marina & Monte Mar, also described below). Follow the detailed directions below to locate each club in turn. If you are travelling south from Alicante city, start at roundabout 1. If you are travelling from Almeria or Malaga, turn off the A7 motorway at the sign to Orihuela. Pass by Bigastro and then Montesinos, to find roundabout 11, just west of the village itself. Note: the numbers on each roundabout are there to clarify the individual directions and do not appear on the actual roundabouts.
La Siesta BC Heading south on the N332, coast road, towards Torrevieja, turn right at the sign for Benijofer and Crevillente. This will take you on the string of roundabouts, numbered 1 to 8, on the above map. Take the right exit at roundabout 4, for the La Siesta community. Turn left at the T junction and first right, calle Granados. At 200 metres, turn right into calle Rossini and La Siesta BC can be found at 100 metres on the right.	San Luis BC Continue to roundabout 5 and take the first exit. At about 100 metres turn left at roundabout, (group of shops, bars & restaurant on your left). Continue until you reach Casa Ventura Restaurant & Sports Complex.
Quesada BC Continue to roundabout 8. Take the first right exit from the roundabout to find Cuidad Quesada, a large enclosed development with a large portal located very near the exit. Go through the portal and at about 300 metres take the left fork and then follow signs to the golf course. Before you reach the golf course look out for Calle Toledo. Quesada BC is located on the right of Calle Toledo.	Greenlands BC Returning to roundabout 8, take the exit signed Alicante/Cartegena. At roundabout 9, (very large), follow the sign to San Miguel de Salinas. At roundabout 10, again follow the sign to San Miguel de Salinas. Look out for the sign for Greenlands Golf Range & Restaurant, at 1.3 km. from the roundabout on the left. Turn left at the sign to lead to Greenlands BC.
Lemon BC From roundabout 11 follow the signs to San Miguel de Salinas. At 1.1 Kms. turn right into a country lane which runs parallel to the main road. Turn right at the sign "38 Lemon Tree" to Lemon Tree BC. (Coming from the other direction, take next turning left past the Titabisan factory.)	San Miguel BC From roundabout 11 follow the signs to San Miguel de Salinas passing through roundabouts 12 and 13. Drive through the village following the sign to Campoamar. At the exit drive 0.4 kms. and then turn left along a country road. Drive 3.4 kms. to the Cheers Bar on the right. San Miguel BC is located behind the Bar.
La Marina BC La Marina BC is situated near the village of La Marina, which lies on the N332, just north of Torrevieja and south of Alicante city. When approaching from either north or south take the new by-pass road. Turn off when you see the Urbanizaciones sign, taking you on to a roundabout. Exit at the Urbanizaciones sign, taking you away from La Marina. Shortly you will see a service station on the right called Estacion Servicio Marina de la Plana. Carry on for 2.3 kms. until you come to a trianglular road structure. Take the right fork and turn left and then right, (the left fork is no entry). By now you should see a roundabout with a set of large satelite dishes. Marina BC is located in a large sports complex behind the roundabout on the right.	Monte Mar BC South of Alicante City and just north of Santa Pola on the N332, turn into Gran Alicante at the petrol station, turn left at the first roundabout, then take the first right, when you will see Supervalue.
Emerald Isle BC If you want to go straight to Emerald Isle BC from the main north/south motorway, A7/E15, between Murcia and Alicante City, follow the directions in the map below. If you want to go from San Miguel village to Emerald Isle BC, follow these directions. Enter San Miguel from the Montesinos direction passing under a bridge. Turn immediately sharp right and follow the sign to Torrevieja. Continue on the Torrevieja road until you reach a roundabout where the AP7 motorway passes overhead. Take the Torrevieja exit and continue until you reach the dartboard roundabout. Take the last exit, which is the very twisty road shown on the map below.
