23/11/2009 - Reg Hignett - Replies to John Haigh |

I for one whole-heartedly agree with John. At our recent club forum, I raised the question of this very point regarding refusal of membership. The answer to my question was, "it is a committee decision, following a secret vote of the committee members". I was further informed that the decision was reached after receiving a letter of objection from another member. As far as I am concerned this sort of answer only fuels suspicion and rumour amongst our members, I happen to know who sent in the objection and sadly it is not the person rumoured to have sent it.. I would always be the protagonist of strong discipline but to suspend people for some of the minor indiscretions we have seen at our club recently is beyond belief. Two years ago I sent to the committee a "Disciplinary Code of Practice", I received a letter of acknowledgment, but as yet as far as I know, no action has been taken and nothing has been ratified at an "AGM".
